1. Data

1.1 User data

Openindex saves search queries, document clicks and web page views in order to enhance and optimize their service. Openindex stores web server logs for debugging purposes, IP addresses are anonimized. These logs are automatically deleted (by rotating logs) after 14 days. Compliant with European GDPR, we dot not store personal any information about our Site Search users.

1.2 Website data

Openindex crawls websites in order to offer a optimal experience with our site search service. Certain contents of crawled web pages is stored for no longer than 60 days. We use this information to make our site search solution function as good as possible. Please take a look at our spider page to learn more about our spider and how you can block our spider.

1.3 Cookies

Openindex uses cookies to provide recommendations. Without cookies recommending web pages is impossible.

1.4 Tracking cookies

Cookies used by Openindex services do not, under any circumstance, track any user across websites. User cookies are always anonimized depending on the website the user uses. Actions taken by a user on a given website are not visible on other websites.

2. Disclosing information to outside parties

Openindex does does not disclose any user information to any outside party.

3. Use of Google User Data

3.1 Data Accessed

Our application uses Google OAuth 2.0 solely for user authentication.

When a user signs in with Google, we request access only to:

  • Basic profile information (such as name)
  • Email address

We do not request or access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google user data.


3.2 Data Usage

The Google user data we access is used exclusively to:

  • Authenticate users
  • Create or log in to a user account
  • Associate the user’s Google account with their account in our system

We do not access, read, modify, analyze, or process any additional Google user data.

Google user data is not used for advertising purposes.


3.3 Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with third parties.

Google user data is used solely to provide authentication and account access within our application.

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to operate our service (e.g., secure hosting providers acting as data processors under contractual obligations).


3.4 Data Storage & Protection

We store only the minimum Google user information necessary to maintain the user account (such as name and email address).

We protect user data through:

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure hosting infrastructure
  • Access controls restricting access to authorized personnel only

We do not store Google account passwords.


3.5 Data Retention & Deletion

We retain Google user data only for as long as the user maintains an account with us or as necessary to provide our services.

Users may request deletion of their account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [your contact email].

Upon verified request, we will delete the user’s Google data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe.

Users may also revoke our access to their Google account at any time through their Google Account security settings.

All data collected by Openindex is stored in a secured environment. Hardware this data is stored on is not owned by any company other than Openindex but is subject to Dutch law.
